The objective

Enhance online presence of local business by improving their search engine rankings for chosen keywords and phrases.

The challenge

The client had very strong, well established, competitors in their industry and so we recognised it would be a challenge to surpass them for certain key phrases. However, we had confidence that through a re-write of their website copy, a targeted monthly blog post and an engaging social media campaign we could propel them to their rightful place in search results.

The process

Imekota worked with the client to identify their main competitors and the keywords and phrases they should be ranking for. We re-wrote their current website copy to include more of the appropriate keywords and optimise the content for search engines, whilst making sure it remained human-friendly.

We created a targeted blog content plan that focused on the keywords identified and increased the social media activity on Facebook – the platform best suited to their services.

Before we started our activity, we recorded the current position each keyword held and then measured the results three months’ later. This gave ourselves, and the client, a clear and measurable indication of how well the strategy was performing.

The result

  • Increased brand awareness and sales
  • Significantly improved the search engine rankings for 22 unique key phrases
  • Ranked in the top five for 16 key phrases on Google
  • Ranked in the top three for 9 key phrases on Google
